These hints are designed to help you learn what to expect and provide ideas that will help you organize your time and energy.

  • The science section is not arranged in order of difficulty…
  • The Science section is really a reasoning or logic test…
  • Think of the Science section as a puzzle or a riddle…
  • The focus is on interpretting data…
  • It is important to be flexible…
  • You only have 35 minutes…

 

DO’S and DON’TS

These rules are designed to help you make decisions about specific actions you must take to achieve your best possible outcome.

  • DO read the information, but do so wuickly, looking for key points…
  • YOU MUST COMPLETE ALL SEVEN PASSAGES! The sections do not get more difficult…
  • DO focus on the charts and graphs…
  • DO pretend that you are shopping at an unfamiliar grocery store…
  • DO look for patterns, trends and directions…
  • DO write in the test booklet…

 

PACING AND PRACTICING RULES

These rules add critical detail to your plan for how to use the available time – you will practice this and become comfortable being timed.

  • With seven passages and 35 minutes…
